I’m back from Hong Kong after 2 months of abandoning Suze, Dear Sherlock, my other business & reality. But the silver lining in the cloud is lots of vintage finds I brought back from my aunt & grandmothers closet and some sales in Hong Kong. Here is our favorite of the batch, this crazy delightful shirt with some dapper ladies donning hilarious blue and grey outfits. Nab it at one of our weekly Saturday markets before Susan carries out her threat to keep it for herself!
We know it’s been a while, but Dear Sherlock is back in business! Now as a staple at Fountain studio’s new weekly market Fountain Fair. We are open every Saturday from 11Am – 5PM. The fair is made up of an assortment of local Brooklyn vendors with goods ranging from handmade jewelry, clothing and home décor to soap, flowers, sweet treats and more. This is a great way to satisfy you weekend shopping needs. For more information about Fountain Fair and to view the list of vendors, please visit: fountainstudiosny.com
We’re looking forward to seeing there!

Char and I have been working hard to get our Etsy shop up and running and it’s nearly ready! While we are under construction I’ve been doing some vintage clothing repairs on the side for those who can’t part with their favorite and WELL loved pieces. This beautiful 1930’s summer dress seemed hopeless, but after a little work it looks like it will make it through another year.
The show was a success and we were happy to see all of you who came. Dear Sherlock was a worthy counterpart to the overall experience, with warm low lighting and a cosy atmosphere, the shop was a perfect place to browse while listening to the melodic music installation that filled the gallery and studios.
We’re looking forward to the next opening on Saturday March 13th. Dear sherlock will be open and we hope to see you there!

Last week Char & I went full steam ahead trying to get the last construction done in the shop. When we couldn’t find the striped wallpaper in the colors we wanted we decided it would be easier to just paint them on. Char’s calling them the “make you want to drink Italian sodas in a candy shoppe” stripes. I decided to add a gold chair rail as well. Paint it gold might have to be our new motto! We did a little un-burgundy magic on the mirror as well. Here’s the shop in it’s before state as we were finishing it up.

Here’s the first post on what will sooner than later be a site bustling with more news and details! Susan & I have been on the vintage hunt rather hardcore the past few months. Our gatherings of goods is starting to resemble mini Everest and we’re both getting pretty excited about the upcoming gentle opening of the beta shop! Currently its lots of little things- making cute tags for the clothes, ordering hangers, getting things repaired where needed. With so much treasure & both of us being vintage hoarders- the hard part is not keeping everything for ourselves. And with lots of terrific ties & men’s accessories- keeping the pilfering husbands at bay is also a hearty task! So New Yorkers & Brooklynites- Mark your calendars to come sip some wine and snag some lovely vintage at the Fountain Studios & Dear Sherlock Holiday event. It’s December 5th & 6th and again on December 12th. Hopefully we’ll even get resident renown hip-hop artist Lil’ Caramel to perform!
